Job Title: Premium Auditor II
Department: Premium Audit
Reports To: Premium Audit Manager
Supervisory Responsibility: NO
Position Summary: Conducts physical premium audits in a timely and cost effective manner.
Essential Functions:
Ø Conducts audits of selected policies by traveling to insured’s place of business to examine, verify and record pertinent data from financial records to determine premium basis and class.
Ø Summarizes information from audit work papers and prepares audit reports for submission.
Ø Reviews premium audit summaries by comparing information on audit work papers against policy provisions to ensure accuracy of final audit billings.
Ø Assists insureds, agents, underwriters, marketing and other service personnel in understanding the audit process through explanation of audit procedures.
Ø Analyze and conclude disputed audit inquiries from policyholders and agents
Ø Must be able to successfully accept and work through the more complicated policyholder premium audits, following up with supervisor, agencies, underwriters, and clients
Other Functions:
Ø Through on-going formal and informal education, remain current in premium audit developments within the industry.
Ø Leads training process for new departmental personnel.
Ø Serves as back-up to department manager in the event of their absence
Ø Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; and five or more years of directly related experience and/or formal training; or ten or more years experience in directly related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Related education and/or professional certifications preferred.
Experience:
At least five years of workers’ compensation experience as a premium auditor.

Ø Set up audit worksheets in logical fashion for ease of readability and understanding.
Ø Working knowledge of the NCCI Scopes publication
Ø Familiarity with NCCI servicing carrier assigned risk pool standards
Ø Must be able to accomplish all tasks remotely using the following:
o Laptop - must be able to accomplish given tasks using a laptop computer
o Cell Phone - demonstrate effective verbal and telephonic communication customer service skills with internal and external customers using a cell phone to accomplish tasks.
